2/18/20 Walk This Way - Position vs. Time Graphs

This week we have been working on finishing up our battery-powered vehicle experiment reports.  We also have been making position vs. time graphs from word descriptions and vice versa.   Today, we used a motion detector to create a position vs. time graph of our own motion.

2/14/2020 Position vs. Time Graphs

Today we compared and contrasted our experiment data (particularly the graph of the data) to identify similarities and differences.  We determined that the y-intercept of a position vs. time graph is the starting position, the sign (positive or negative) of the slope indicated the direction of travel and the size (magnitude) of the slope is the velocity of the object.

2/12/2020 Battery-Powered Vehicle Investigation

Today the students planned and carried out an investigation to determine the relationship between the time a battery-powered car traveled and the position of the car.   Time is the difference between the beginning and ending clock reading.  Position is the number of standards units of measure (such as meters) that are put end-to-end in a straight line from position zero to another point.

2/7/20 Evidence for the Big Theory & Job Interviews

Today we learned about different lines of evidence for the big bang theory and discussed how that evidence doesn't contradict the creation account in Genesis 1-2. We also interviewed for a position in new lab groups.

2/5/20 Unit Review - Model Summary Board & Clothespin Bumper Cars
